A person's willpower is the ability to delay gratification, resisting short-term temptations in order to achieve long-term objectives. Laziness and lack of willpower account for most of our bad habits. The term "willpower" is often used to describe behaviours that require significant mental or physical effort, such as quitting smoking or getting regular exercise, but willpower can also refer to achieving goals and fulfilling dreams.
