This is the first in the Calladine & Bayliss series, and it does not disappoint. I couldn't put this down and it only took so long to read due to work commitments! It is graphically violent and not for the faint-hearted. There are more than enough twists to keep you turning those pages.

Tom Calladine is a divorced, fifty-one-year-old detective inspector who is totally devoted to his job.

Ruth Bayliss is in her mid-thirties, very blunt and loyal.
