My friend once let me borrow her Kindle. I was unsure about it at first because I loved the feel and smell of a real book in my hands. This was the first ever book that I read on it and needless to say, it got me downloading more instantly, that is when I fell in love with my Kindle.
All Fall Down is a stand-alone psychological/crime fiction thriller. It is tense and twisted and it hooks the reader from the beginning. The tension is palpable, the suspense is first-class, and the surprises are shocking.
When the Turner family is enjoying a barbeque at home, they are surprised by a dying man's cry for help. Despite their best efforts, the Turners are unable to help the man who has been brutally assaulted. It is at this point that emotional trauma and horror enter their lives. They are unaware that malignant forces are watching them. Slowly, secrets from the Turners start to surface. A reign of terror awaits around every corner, along with twists and turns. In the Turners' case, everything is on the line. It's impossible to not root for the family no matter what flaws they have.
I was gripped by this well-plotted story. There is a lot of suspense in the writing, and it is fluent. Without giving away spoilers, I will say the ending was satisfying. I always enjoy a book that has a definitive ending, leaving no questions unanswered. If you want to pick up something you cannot put down, this book is a great place to start.
